The Frailloop Artist

 

My name is Gavin and I weld things.

Frailloop is my description of the world in which we all live. If you take more out than you put back, you break the loop, and it will all come crashing down. We should all try to recycle and reuse as much as possible. This is part of my effort. I cannot claim to be perfect, but I hope to do my bit. If I can make a difference for the good, I’ll feel better about myself.

 

About Frail Loop sculptures.

I use metal off-cuts and scrap and give them a second chance at life. Sometimes things go well and those results are for sale.

The Sculptures.

I like to look of the objects as they rust, because previously that was the last thing that was required from them, and so most are made to sit outside corroding gently. This process takes many years and in this time nature will build on my efforts. Should you require a sculpture that will have a more pampered life indoors it will require a protective coating. This can also be applied to those outside which will slow the ageing process, but remember nothing lasts for ever. At best you can only slow nature down. Unless shown you will need to request this.
